All the winter tourist spots, whether snowy or sunny, have their unique natural beauty, along with other attractions.

1. The Carribean:
The Carribean sees very low rainfall in the winter months. The sun shines continuously here during this time, making the place an extremely popular winter destination for British travelers. Here, you can see some of the best beaches in the world, such as those in Bahama and Jamaica.

2. New York, USA:
New York is one of the snowy places in the winter. So, carry your footie socks and gloves along. This is a place famous for ice skating. Try to go for ice skating here in January, since the queues are a lot less and the prices fall. If you visit the place during Christmas, don’t forget to click some photos of you and your family beside the huge Christmas tree, at Rockfeller Center Plaza.

3. Innsbruck, Austria:
As soon as the slopes of Austria are hit by snow, snowboarders head for Innsbruck, giving a boost to Austria’s tourism. The winter Olympics have been organized at Innsbruck for three years (1964, 1976 and 2012). Tourists from all over the globe visit this skiing hub during winter. Here, you can perform activities like alpine-style curling, bob sleighing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding and skiing.

4. New Zealand:
New Zealand, during the cooler months, has the warmest time of the year. So, get ready to enjoy this pleasant contrast by sporting a hawaaii shirt and a summer hat. Like Innsbruck, New Zealand too lets tourists involve in a few extreme sports and adventurous activities, but helps them stay warmer. You can also get your adrenaline rushing by sky diving above the Abel Tasman National Park.

5. Kakslauttanen Igloo village, Finland:
If you love the chill of winter, this is the place for you to go. In this igloo village, there are about 20 snow igloos available for a night, along with one that serves as a restaurant for tourists to dine in. To stay in one of these igloos, you need to be quite brave, as the temperature within the igloos ranges from -3c to -6c.

6. Cologne, Germany:
Germany has phenomenal Christmas markets, but Cologne stands out of the rest. The Cologne market is visited by about 2 million people each year, and it is truly a place where you can feel the festive spirit. In the background, you can see the famous Cologne Cathedral that has a gothic look. The place has about six Christmas markets, all close to each other in the center of the town. So, if you wish to go for holidays during the Christmas, consider this place.

7. Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy:
The most spectacular place in the Liguria Riviera is Portofino. However, the neighboring place, Santa Margherita Ligure, is equally attractive and comparatively more affordable. This relaxed, small resort town is located within a rocky inlet on Gulf of Tigullio. It has mild winters, making it pleasanter for you to hike the mountainous road to Portofino, or tour the terraced gardens dating back to the 16th century, in Villa Durazzo, or stroll past gleaming cruisers and yachts.

8. Budapest, Hungary:
Budapest has amazing scenic beauty during the winter months, and is a bit more affordable than some other winter destinations. Ice skating is an activity you can do here during Christmas. Couples can do ice skating at Christmas in the Mujegpalya, Europe’s largest skating rink. The Mangalica festival, held in February, is great for food lovers. You can find good slopes for skiing here, and can take your kids on the Santa’s tram. Budapest makes a great option for family holidays during winter.
